“Kioo” is Swahili for mirror — because children learn best when they can see themselves in the page. Our lessons follow Uganda's competency-based curriculum topic by topic, and every one of the 3,151 is illustrated by hand: markets and matooke gardens, boda stages and borehole pumps, classrooms that look like the ones our own children sit in.

Is Kioo really free?
Yes — and not free-for-a-week free. Every lesson, every quiz, read-aloud, search, bookmarks and streaks are free forever. The only paid feature is the AI Homework Tutor, because every photo question costs us real money to answer well.
What does Kioo Pro cost?
UGX 15,000 per month. That unlocks the AI Homework Tutor with roughly 30 photo questions a month, plus free follow-up chat within each session. If you run out, credit top-ups start at UGX 3,000 and never expire. Full details are on the pricing page.
How do I pay with MTN MoMo or Airtel Money?

Will it run on a small or older phone?
That's exactly who we build for. Kioo is light, runs on modest Android phones, and is careful with data. Lessons are illustrated pages, not heavy videos, so revision doesn't eat the bundle.
Is my child's data safe?
We collect the minimum needed to run the app, we never sell data, and we show no third-party behavioural ads. Parents can review everything — and request deletion — at any time. Read our privacy policy and child-safety standards.
